MCAT: “Your tutoring nonprofit was life changing!”

Happily sharing that I’ve been accepted to LSU’s  MD program!!! I’m going to be a doctor!!! Thank you so much for helping me with the MCAT. Your tutoring nonprofit was life changing!

MCAT: “He explains difficult concepts cogently”

Dan is an amazingly dedicated tutor. He is extremely kind, patient, understanding, and well organized.  He explains difficult concepts cogently. He even scheduled a quick impromptu session to explain something more clearly and will revisit topics if he finds an even better way to approach them. The enormous depth of understanding of nuance reduces the amount of rote memorization other tutors and teachers would normally enforce. That he dedicates his time and energy to help disadvantaged students speaks volumes about his love not only for teaching but his compassion for students and their wellbeing and success. He will believe in your success even if others (and sometimes you) don’t.

MCAT:  “Dan is second-to-none. He is awesome!!!”

With Dan's help, I increased my score on the SAT by almost 100 points to 2380, which helped me get into Rutgers on a full-ride scholarship. While studying pre-med, I continued to meet with Dan while I prepared for the MCAT. Studying the Chemical and Physical Sciences section, my weakest section, enabled me to achieve a top score in the 95th percentile. Thanks to Dan's role in making me a competitive candidate through so many stages of my education, I am now a first-year MD-PhD student at Ohio State University, a top-ranked medical school. Dan's strengths lie in his ability to break down complex topics into easier-to-understand pieces. As a tutor, Dan is endlessly encouraging and attentive. His open communication meant that it was always easy to schedule an appointment, even 2-3 days ahead of time. Dan follows up with students even months later during exam score release, showing that he is still thinking of his students after formal tutoring sessions end. For anyone seeking to improve their grades and get ahead of the pack in school, Dan is second-to-none. He is awesome!!!

MCAT:  “Excellent and reliable tutor!”

Dan tutored me specifically for the MCAT physical sciences section, and is incredibly knowledgeable with both the physics and general chemistry content of the exam. I usually had to let him know only 2-3 days in advance that I wanted to meet, and he made sure that we could meet when it was convenient for the both of us. Dan completely taught me physics in a way that I could understand and make sense of, especially for the difficult MCAT exam. I became able to do the difficult questions on my own, and even when I was back at college in Massachusetts, I was able to e-mail him with questions and rely on him for answers. Dan helped me improve a great amount in the physical sciences section of the MCAT, and I highly highly recommend him as a tutor in the sciences, as well as a tutor for the SAT exam.
